The fourth house represents home, family, mother, vehicles, immovable property, inner peace, and emotional happiness. The placement of Rahu in the fourth house and Ketu in the tenth house can bring various ups and downs and changes in a person’s life.
The tenth house of the birth chart, also known as the “Karma Bhava” (house of actions), signifies career, profession, and social status. It is a very important house. Rahu and Ketu are both shadow planets and are no less important than the other physical planets. Rahu is the north node of the Moon and Ketu is the south node of the Moon.
What Do the 4th and 10th Houses Represent?
The 4th house governs home, family, mother, vehicles, immovable property, emotional well-being, and inner peace. Meanwhile, the 10th house, often called the Karma Bhava, is associated with one’s career, profession, social status, and public life.
Rahu and Ketu—though not physical planets—are equally powerful. Rahu is the north lunar node and Ketu the south lunar node. Together, they influence the karmic blueprint of a person’s life.

Rahu in 11th House and Ketu in 5th House – Vedic Astrology Analysis
Rahu and Ketu are always placed 180 degrees apart. In Vedic astrology, the placement of Rahu in the 11th house and Ketu in the 5th house is significant and often linked with Kaal Sarp Yoga. This configuration can bring both positive and negative results.
From the eleventh house, Rahu can provide sudden gains such as winning a lottery, stock market profits, political gains, growth in intellectual and political powers, a desire for fame, and positive support from friends and acquaintances.
In the fifth house, Ketu may bring challenges in childbirth and issues related to inheritance. Ketu in this house can reduce involvement in creative or educational activities. As Ketu is also a planet of liberation (moksha), it encourages spiritual nature, knowledge, and self-realization.

My View on Rahu and Ketu Predictions Across Houses
The predictions for Rahu and Ketu in various houses are more based on probabilities than certainties. For example, if Rahu or Ketu occupies the 8th house in an Aries ascendant chart, it will relate to health and longevity, ruled by Mars (Scorpio). But in a Taurus ascendant chart, the 8th house is the house of fortune, and results will differ. So, the rising sign (Lagna) significantly changes the placement and effects of Rahu and Ketu.
Another important point: Rahu and Ketu always sit opposite each other in a straight axis. If all other planets lie on one side of this axis, it forms Kaal Sarp Dosh, which usually gives negative outcomes. This dosh varies based on the house placement and results in 12 different types depending on the houses they occupy.
Hence, we cannot solely predict the outcome of Rahu and Ketu based on just their presence in the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 8th, or 11th houses. The full analysis must consider the entire chart made by certified Astrologer and Gold Medalist Acharya Dr R.A Sharma.
